Penalties for Georgia DWI
In Georgia there are two levels of drinking and driving offenses. The more serious is a ‘per se’ offense where a motorist has a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher. A first time DWI offense could lead to community service, fines and surcharges, jail, probation and loss of driver’s license. Being found guilty of drunk driving would result in a criminal record.

The Department of Motor Vehicles gives you 10 business days to request a hearing and seek continuance of your driving privileges.
